Job Description
We are looking for an Expert Enterprise Architect to join our team at Discover Financial Services. As a Technical Architect at Discover, you will play a key role in developing technology strategies and future state architectures that drive industry-differentiating solutions. You will be responsible for combining deep technical domain understanding with organizational concerns such as business acumen, security, compliance, and product delivery. Additionally, you will serve as a technical thought leader across product areas, creating architectural artifacts and demonstrating expert knowledge in multiple technical areas.
Responsibilities
- Develop technology strategies and future state architectures.
- Actively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues.
- Serve as a technical thought leader and create architectural artifacts.
- Lead technical strategy for the enterprise.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of multiple technical areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Software Development, Software Engineering, or Technical Architecture.
- Internal applicants must have a technical proficiency rating of expert on the Dreyfus architecture scale.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture methods (e.g. TOGAF).
- Experience using Enterprise Architecture modeling tools (e.g. LeanIX, Ardoq).
- Experience in the financial industry.
- Experience with modern architectures, digital, and cloud solutions.
- Experience leading large architecture program initiatives.
