Discover Financial Services is looking for an Expert Application Engineer (Quality) to join their agile delivery teams. Responsibilities
- Research new technology opportunities to enhance technical capabilities at Discover.
- Drive strategic technology decisions through collaboration with experts.
- Enhance Discover's external image as a desired workplace for technology best practices.
- Participate in internal and external communities as a thought leader.
- Shape learning paths for engineers by sharing experiences and knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Information Technology or Software Engineering.
- Internal proficiency rating of expert on the Dreyfus engineering scale for internal applicants.
Preferred Qualifications
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience in Cloud Technologies, especially AWS.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining APIs, containerized applications/services, and IaaS.
- Passion for high-quality standards and test automation practices.
- Programming language experience in Java and/or Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Outstanding collaboration, communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Knowledge and experience in Golang and Full-stack web application development using React, Node.js are advantageous.
- Background in risk management is a plus.
