Job Description

We are looking for an Expert Vulnerability Analyst to join Discover Financial Services as part of our Cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind DFS Cybersecurity strategic compliance and vulnerability management decisions, overseeing roadmaps, and providing resilient support for next-generation systems. As a thought leader in the field, you will actively manage and escalate risks and customer-impacting issues while practicing expertise in third-party cybersecurity risk programs.

Responsibilities

  • Advise upper management on cybersecurity matters and provide guidance to Cybersecurity architects.
  • Direct security solutions in alignment with business risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with management to define strategic direction, develop cyber solutions, and maintain threat intelligence processes.
  • Design and articulate defensive security measures while developing unique cybersecurity performance indicators.
  • Mentor and lead the team in conducting comprehensive security assessments of third-party vendors.
  • Manage cybersecurity findings, oversee the TPRM program, and maintain program documentation.
  • Stay updated on information security management best practices and emerging threat actors’ techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Business, Analytics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related fields; or 10+ years of experience without a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of core third-party vendor risk management experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with incident response, penetration testing, and security frameworks such as NIST 800-53.
  • GIAC, CISSP, or CISM certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) principles and Agile methodology.
