Job Description
Slumberland Furniture is currently seeking Warehouse Associates to join our team. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in merchandise movement, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and distribution of products. This position offers a competitive starting salary of $17 per hour and provides the opportunity to work Monday to Friday starting at 7:00 am.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
This role involves storing, moving, and distributing merchandise, as well as providing training to other employees. You will use a point of sale system to manage inventory flow and maintain accuracy across customer orders and records.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
Merchandise Movement
- Efficiently organize and consolidate merchandise for optimal space utilization.
- Handle merchandise transfers to and from the show floor, ensuring proper display and packaging.
- Utilize the point of sale system for inventory management.
- Unpack, inspect, and prepare products for delivery or shipment.
Training
- Lead by example and provide training to fellow employees.
Customer Service
- Maintain professional communication with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies and keep management informed.
Other
- Adhere to safety policies and practices for the proper handling of equipment and products.
- Support lean practices and assist with grounds and building maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards completion).
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge.
- Experience with POS systems is desirable.
