Used Service Technician

Job Description

We are looking for dedicated Service Technicians to join our team at Rudd Equipment Company. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various components of heavy equipment, both in the shop and field settings. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our customers' machines and ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and work in compliance with safety regulations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on heavy equipment.
• Perform repairs on mobile equipment in field environments independently.
• Conduct welding, fabricate parts, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure timely repairs to meet customer satisfaction.
• Work overtime and travel when necessary to fulfill job requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and drive-train systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Experience in repairing hydraulic, electrical, and air conditioning systems.
• Proficiency in welding and fabrication.
• Ability to interpret technical information from schematics.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED required, technical school graduate preferred.
• Experience with Volvo construction and paving equipment is advantageous.
• Valid safe driving record and DOT Medical Certification.

Communication Skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document repairs and communicate with customers and supervisors.

Physical Demands

The role requires lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy equipment as part of the repair process. Work may involve exposure to variable weather conditions in both field and shop environments.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position with variable work hours. Overtime and occasional travel may be required.
