Surgical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our elite oral surgery practice at Oklahoma Dental Implants & Oral Surgery. As part of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring exceptional patient care and supporting our surgeons during procedures.

Role and Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to aid patient care.
• Verify patient identities and operative sites.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures by maintaining aseptic technique and ensuring an unobstructed operative field.
• Operate sterilization devices and obtain necessary equipment for surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient intraoperative status and complete patient clinical documentation.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required or the ability to complete within 1 month of hire.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.
• DAANCE certification, licensed dental assistant, and radiology certification are preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to work well in a team and individually.
• Good judgment, critical thinking skills, and passion for safety.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
• Superior listening skills and basic knowledge of medical terminology.
