Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at $17 per hour. As a Senior Merchandise Handler, your primary objective is to manage merchandise movement efficiently and provide some training to other employees.
Responsibilities
- Move and organize merchandise to optimize space efficiency.
- Transfer merchandise to and from the show floor for storage, delivery, or customer pickup.
- Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to track merchandise flow accurately.
- Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
- Receive and inspect incoming merchandise, as well as prepare outgoing items for shipment.
- Provide training to other employees and lead by example.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating professionally and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe and organized facility.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including grounds and building maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware assembly.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge required.
