Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. As a crucial member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for efficiently managing merchandise movement, ensuring accurate inventory, and providing exceptional customer service.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This position involves storing, moving, and distributing products within the warehouse. You will lead by example, provide training to fellow employees, and maintain a well-organized and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and rearrange merchandise to optimize space.
• Handle merchandise for display, storage, or customer delivery.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and inventory records.
• Receive, unpack, inspect, and prepare merchandise for shipment.
• Provide training and support to colleagues.
• Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving inventory discrepancies.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized facility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or actively pursuing one.
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with POS systems is a plus.
