Medical Technologist, Full-Time WEO Nights

Job Description

We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled Medical Technologist to join Johnson Regional Medical Center on a full-time basis, working on weekends and evenings. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, conducting various tests in different areas of the clinical laboratory, and maintaining quality control practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity, moderate complexity, and waived testing in areas such as blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and more.
• Monitor, order, and manage supplies for laboratory testing.
• Act as the lead for assigned laboratory areas, handling testing, inventory, and quality assurance.
• Notify healthcare providers of critical lab values and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Stay updated on new testing methods, technologies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology, or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of Clinical Laboratory experience.
• Preferred certification.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and basic computer knowledge.

Physical Demands

This position involves working in a hospital environment with exposure to various hazards. The role requires standing, walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, and operating lab equipment safely.

This position is classified as safety-sensitive.
