Material Handler

Job Description

Join our team at Slumberland Furniture as a Material Handler. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing merchandise. This is a full-time position with competitive pay starting at $17 per hour.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This position involves merchandise movement tasks, such as optimizing space efficiency, managing product flow using the POS system, and ensuring accuracy in customer orders and records. Additionally, you will provide some training to other employees and deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and condense merchandise to maximize space.
• Manage merchandise flow to and from the show floor.
• Utilize the POS system for effective inventory management.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Unload, inspect, and process incoming merchandise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Experience with POS systems is desirable.

Other Duties

• Provide training to other employees.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
