Manufacturing Process Specialist

Job Description

Join our team at Preformed Line Products as a Manufacturing Process Specialist. In this role, you will lead global manufacturing performance improvement initiatives through collaboration in equipment, process engineering, and product engineering.

Essential Functions:

• Manufacturing Process Leadership:
  • Lead technical process improvement and troubleshooting support on metal and plastic fabrication.
  • Increase manufacturing productivity through process KPIs.
  • Support remote sites in aligning with manufacturing process standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Coach site manufacturing engineering teams for development.
• Production Equipment Strategy:
  • Drive improvement plans for helical wire processing equipment.
  • Maintain and update global proprietary machine design drawing catalog.
  • Lead global machine maintenance strategy to enhance asset availability.
  • Review and support new capital equipment business case development.
• Product Engineering Collaboration:
  • Provide recommendations for product development engineers (Design for Manufacturability).
  • Support PLM software implementation.
• Operations Support and Technical Expertise:
  • Introduce new manufacturing developments to PLP sites worldwide.
  • Evaluate overall operations performance and drive improvement actions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of ten years of experience in engineering or management.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing technology and processing methods.
• Minimum of five years of management experience.
• Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, inventory control, and costing software applications.
• Travel Requirements: 30%.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects across departments and locations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds.
