Athletic Trainer

Job Description

Blount Memorial Hospital is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services at sporting events, community events, and in the clinic to athletes through the Sports Medicine Program. The athletic trainer assesses athletes, monitors progress, notes patient response to treatment, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Additionally, the role involves providing physical therapy care to various populations under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, interacting professionally with patients, staff, physicians, and the public.

Job Specifications

• Education and/or Experience: Requires a current Athletic Training license by the State of Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards and CPR Certification. Membership in a professional association is recommended.
• Knowledge: Must have knowledge of basic growth and development, assessment and treatment of injuries, disease and physical dysfunction, as well as human behavior and performance.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, critical thinking ability, and performance assessment skills are essential for this role.
• Abilities: Proficiency in deductive reasoning, listening, and problem-solving through information integration.
