Job Description

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC), a regional local government entity, is seeking a highly motivated and independently responsible Accountant. As a CPA candidate, the selected individual will work directly with the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and assist various departments. Responsibilities include developing, reviewing, and modifying accounting procedures, systems, and policies. The successful candidate is expected to prepare and analyze fiscal reports, interpret the Fiscal Control Act, and demonstrate independent judgment in completing assignments. Anticipated hiring salary is $50,233.28 DOQ, with excellent benefits including the Local Government Employees Retirement System.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and assist departments.
  • Develop, review, and modify accounting procedures, systems, and policies.
  • Prepare and analyze fiscal reports, interpret the Fiscal Control Act.
  • Exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in completing assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
  • CPA candidate with up to two years of professional accounting experience.
  • Ability to analyze data, produce financial reports, and lead others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
