Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team on a full-time WEO Nights schedule at Johnson Regional Medical Center. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, performing a variety of tests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring quality control practices in the clinical laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function in all areas of the clinical laboratory including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and more.
  • Perform high-complexity testing, inventory management, and quality improvement activities under supervision.
  • Interact professionally with staff, consult with other departments for patient care, and maintain a culture of safety and quality.
  • Stay updated on new testing methods, products, and technologies in the field.

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology, or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of clinical lab experience.
  • Preferred certification and proficiency in English communication.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate lab equipment safely.

Physical Demands

  • Work in a hospital environment with exposure to biological, chemical, and mechanical hazards.
  • Frequent standing and walking, occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring a focused and attentive approach.
