Job Description

As a proactive team member, our Maintenance Technician at McIntosh Box & Pallet Co Inc is responsible for performing and managing plant maintenance programs under the direction of the Plant Manager. The role involves ensuring that maintenance activities prioritize employee health and safety, product quality, and environmental protection. The successful candidate will adhere to all health and safety policies, maintain a clean and safe work area, and contribute to enhancing product quality and plant performance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures in plant manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain process hand tools such as reciprocating saws and nail guns.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance and repair on trucking equipment like forklifts.
  • Document performance and processes accurately and timely.
  • Schedule, execute, and document work orders.
  • Provide coaching on industrial production equipment use and repair.
  • Ability to perform basic carpentry tasks and minor masonry for plant improvement projects.
  • Handle miscellaneous tasks like simple electrical/plumbing, painting, building repairs, and landscaping.

Requirements

  • Mechanically inclined with knowledge of common mechanics tools.
  • Preferably completed a 30-hour OSHA course and possess welding knowledge.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing industrial pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in industrial machine maintenance with the ability to manage multiple high priority projects.
  • Familiarity with OSHA procedures, Control of Hazardous Energy regulations, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Physically capable of standing and walking on concrete floors, lifting 75 pounds, and using MS Office and internet applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high school diploma or GED.
