Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Complex Director of Finance to lead our financial operations at the Sentinel Hotel & Dossier Hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our hotel operations, ensuring financial integrity and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage cash flow-related issues and communicate with management and ownership.
  • Coordinate the completion of forecasts and budgets with the Executive Team and department managers.
  • Analyze financial data to advise management on financial objectives.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures for effective financial management.
  • Establish and audit internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, and payroll.
  • Prepare financial reports meeting deadlines and provide insights for revenue generation and cost control.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with department heads.
  • Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and operational taxes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Strong financial acumen, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Proven track record of financial leadership and decision-making.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines effectively.
