Job Summary
The Certified Pathologists’ Assistant plays a key role in the pathology department, performing specimen grossing, assisting with procedures, and supporting pathologists in diagnosis. This position requires working under Pathologist supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assure proper specimen accessioning.
- Prepare and submit tissue samples for processing.
- Perform autopsies and assist with specialized procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- Completion of NAACLS program.
- ASCP Certification as a Certified Pathology Assistant.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Maintain professional certifications and licenses.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to focus for extended periods and operate lab equipment.
- Proficient in data interpretation and computer skills.
