Job Description

We are hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse - Health Unit Coordinator (LPN-HUC) to join our team at Genesis Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare services team, you will play a vital role in providing professional care services to our patients/residents. Working under the supervision of the Unit Manager, Charge Nurse, or Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for administrative support activities related to medication and treatment orders, as well as coordinating care from patient admission to discharge. This position requires advanced knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency in medical order transcription, understanding of drug flow processes, and familiarity with various applications such as Excel and Pharmacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe authorized health practitioner orders.
• Implement the Genesis Pharmacy Program.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing.
• Coordinate internal and external healthcare provider appointments.
• Greet patients, physicians, visitors, and staff, and ensure adherence to nursing center policies.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and medication handling.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Experience in medical order transcription.
• Understanding of patient care processes from admission to discharge.
