Construction Inspector - Topeka

Job Description

Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) is looking for an Experienced Construction Inspector for our Topeka, KS location. The incumbent will inspect various types of construction projects, ensure compliance with regulations and contract specifications, attend meetings, perform checks on construction drawings, and maintain inspection reports. The role requires the ability to lift and carry weight, work outdoors in various conditions, and travel as needed. The ideal candidate should have at least five years of construction inspection experience, strong knowledge of construction methods and safety regulations, excellent communication and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a current/valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect various types of construction projects to ensure compliance with regulations and contract specifications.
• Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, respond to questions, and resolve problems as necessary.
• Complete and maintain daily/weekly inspection reports, track contractor pay item quantities, review contractor pay estimates, and schedule and observe testing.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with employees, managers, and representatives from other departments and organizations.

Requirements

• Five or more years of construction inspection experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift and carry weight, work outdoors in various conditions, and travel as needed.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree or higher, and a current/valid driver's license.
