Railcar Repair Technician

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity at First Response Rail Service, Inc., a leading company in rail asset management and logistics. We are currently seeking a dedicated Railcar Repair Technician to join our team in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining railcars, ensuring they meet safety standards and operational requirements. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn and grow in the field of freight car repair.

Job Overview

• Inspecting railcars daily.
• Performing necessary repairs, including welding and fabrication.
• Executing program work based on provided scope.
• Conducting railcar part change outs in the field on a work track.

Requirements

• Willingness to travel as required.
• Proficient in the use of an oxygen/acetylene torch, MIG and stick welding.
• Strong spatial awareness, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 80lbs and walk up to 10 miles a day.
• Dedication to continuous learning and improvement.

Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience. Per Diem is provided for travel. The work schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional weekend and holiday shifts.
