Job Description

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for performing technical accounting functions, including account reconciliation, report preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with payroll functions. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and policies, and performing routine accounting tasks with accuracy and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical accounting functions for the financial operations of the Regional Council.
  • Work directly with the general ledger, including account reconciliation and report preparation.
  • Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assist with payroll functions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting procedures, systems, and policies.
  • Complete assignments with a focus on accuracy and reliability.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, budgeting processes, and internal controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Graduation from an accredited two-year institution with a major in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Anticipated starting salary: $18.01 per hour.
