Job Description

We are seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Skills Trainer in Supported Employment at Marion County. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mental health disorders and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness. As a Vocational Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals secure and maintain gainful employment based on their preferences and strengths.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Supported Employment services following IPS standards and a person-centered approach.
  • Develop and maintain vocational profiles, job search plans, and job analysis for participants.
  • Offer job coaching, guidance, and coordination to support participants in finding and retaining employment.
  • Conduct employment research, job development, and liaison with employers to create job opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and meet performance expectations for documentation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams, participate in team meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three years of relevant work experience in a behavioral health services field or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Possession of MHACBO Qualified Mental Health Associate certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health concepts, crisis intervention, recovery models, and community resources.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team and practice cultural competency.
  • Physical ability to operate a vehicle, move around the work area, and lift up to 15 lbs.
