Job Description

Hiring an HR Generalist for our Metal Plating facility. A great position for someone interested in getting into the HR field, such as a recent graduate. The ideal candidate would have some exposure to HR department duties, including recruiting, weekly payroll, good time management, ability to enforce policies, employee relations, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA. The prime focus will initially be on recruiting, working as part of a team with our Senior HR Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing adequate employee levels
  • Managing the hiring cycle, from posting jobs to onboarding and orientation
  • Preparing, processing, and distributing payroll weekly
  • Possessing knowledge of benefits to explain to employees
  • Ensuring timely completion of reviews and training by working with Supervisors/Managers
  • Handling first-level employee relations, assisting when needed
  • Planning events such as luncheons and parties
  • Managing attendance and policy enforcement
  • Completing verification of employment requests and processing child support paperwork
  • Handling terminations, unemployment claims, and other miscellaneous duties
  • Assisting the Senior Human Resources Manager as needed

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some entry-level accounting background (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or 1 year of human resources experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyze data and provide recommendations
  • Outstanding organizational and negotiation skills
  • Decisive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency
  • Professional team player with superior communication skills, good mathematical aptitude, and a strong customer service focus
  • Strong attention to detail, proficiency in Excel and Word, and the ability to maintain a regular and reliable attendance record
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
  • The ability to lift and move 1-50 lbs. as needed and work independently with minimal supervision

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 + DOQ

Hiring Bonus: $1500 (not applicable to current employees)
