General Manager

Job Description

The General Manager at VASA Fitness is responsible for directing operations and sales at the location, driving the club towards results. They will be in charge of building and leading a team of results-driven, culture-based club leads to achieve financial performance and consistency in the club. The ideal candidate has a take-charge personality and a reputation for getting things done.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the pace, financial performance, and consistency in the club.
  • Drive operational goals, objectives, and priorities for lead roles and responsible for club financial results.
  • Hire and develop the club team with emphasis on lead positions.
  • Communicate, uphold and lead the club to deliver the "House of VASA" approach, purpose, and foundation.
  • Manage a clean, friendly, and well-maintained club.
  • Observe that all team members create and maintain the "UPLIFT" culture in the club.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent accountability for direct reports through training, coaching, conducting planning sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Hold Leads accountable for driving and delivering results.
  • Control club labor to meet budget expectations.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire Leads, and participate in the final interviews for all club positions.
  • Develop direct reports by communicating priorities and encouraging the team to achieve results.
  • Provide direction to Leads to deliver performance goals and implement corporate and district initiatives.
  • Resolve escalated member concerns outside the authority of Leads.
  • Provide resources and direction to ensure company policies and procedures, including loss prevention, are enforced.
  • Establish priorities and goals for member acquisition and retention.
  • Identify, plan, and execute club improvements.
  • Create an inspiring environment for Leads to bring the House of VASA to life.
  • Work collaboratively with district support team members and corporate departments to support company directives and initiatives.
  • Provide feedback and create a culture of accountability.
