Job Description

Children First Inc is looking for a dedicated Family Advocate to join our team. The Family Advocate plays a vital role in supporting family well-being and fostering children's learning and development by integrating parent and family engagement strategies into all services. Responsibilities include providing case management, referrals, and support services to families, promoting parents as advocates for their children, maintaining family and child-related records, and acting as a liaison between classroom and home environments.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum qualification of a credential or certification in social work, human services, or related field within 18 months of hire.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology with relevant coursework.
  • Two years of experience in family/social services or early childhood setting related to case management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Specialized training in social services, health, or disabilities case management desired.
  • Valid Driver's License, auto insurance, and criminal history registry enrollment required.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR within 90 days of hire.

  • Proficiency in teaching parents using adult learning principles.

  • Resource utilization, guidance provision, and detailed attention to program services.
  • Professional boundaries maintenance and response to sensitive family situations.
  • Independence in work with minimal supervision.
  • Physical capabilities to attend to children's needs and respond to emergencies.

Service Delivery

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, culturally and linguistically appropriate services aligned with program standards and regulations.

Compensation
