Job Description

The Registered Nurse at Hospice Of Hope, Inc provides one-to-one care at the bedside of terminally ill patients according to an ongoing nursing assessment of need and in accordance with the established plan of care. The position requires three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekend rotation, with the eligibility for a $5,000 bonus. Duties include:

  • Provides compassionate end-of-life care in accordance with the individualized plan of care, with demonstrated ability to assess and respond to patient and family needs in a timely manner.
  • Educates patients and caregivers on end-of-life, services, and other resources.
  • Documents complex medical information using clinical tools, data, and other information to complete assessment of patient needs.
  • Establishes professional and collaborative relationships with patients, families, and providers utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current licensure in Kentucky and Ohio.
  • At least one year of experience in a patient care position in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility preferred.
  • Personal qualities of empathy, responsibility, dependability, effective communication skills, ability to work independently, leadership, and teaching ability are required.
  • Must arrange travel and be able to access client homes, nursing homes, hospitals, and other facilities independently. Must demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and observe universal precautions. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds using proper body mechanics. Must have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
