Job Description

Behavioral Health Services of Virginia is actively seeking qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a full caseload of 30-40 hours per week and should embrace the opportunity to work for a rapidly expanding Behavioral Health provider.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to program participants.
  • Progress notes and assistance with gathering information for assessment.
  • Maintain a caseload of multiple clients and reduce the risk of out-of-home placement.
  • Attend weekly supervision with the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate an awareness, appreciation, and respect for diverse cultures and individual differences of clients and fellow employees.
  • Utilize approved skills curriculum with youth, adults, and families to help improve behavior.
  • Keep the family and team members informed on progress toward achieving Service/Treatment Plan goals.
  • Maintain accurate and concise documentation of all services, contacts, and collaboration with clients, families, and community partners.
  • Provide or secure support and crisis/emergency services for the youth, adult, and family by phone contact or in-person.
  • Maintain all client documentation in the electronic record system and ensure adherence to requirements set forth in all state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a human services-related field required.
  • Must hold current registration as a QMHP from the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • At least one year of experience providing mental health services (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
