Medical Assistant

Job Description

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking an outstanding Medical Assistant to join our team in DTC. Our physician-led network is committed to expanding access to quality healthcare and ensuring the health and wellness of members and their families. As a back office Medical Assistant, you will assist the provider in examination and treatment of patients by performing various essential duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Completing intake by welcoming patients and preparing them for healthcare visits.
• Documenting a full and accurate set of vital signs in electronic medical records.
• Assisting providers during examination and treatment, performing point of care tests, and maintaining supplies in storage areas and exam rooms.
• Conducting business in a service-oriented manner, pre-visit planning, and maintaining professional relationships with vendors supporting the practice.
• Following HIPAA guidelines and attending trainings and meetings as required.

• Displaying empathy, active listening, and accurately maintaining medical records for patients and providers.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited healthcare program; certification as a Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills, EMR experience, and some Medical Assistant experience required.
• Current BLS card.

Preferred Education/Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics.
• Experience with Athenahealth practice management system.

Salary: $21 - $26 / hour. The estimate represents the typical salary range of candidates hired, and actual salary may be determined based on specific skills and years of experience. OnPoint Medical Group is an EEO Employer.
