Are you a skilled Kitchen Cook looking for an exciting opportunity? Hornblower - City Experiences is hiring a Sous Chef to join our City Cruises Operation in Norfolk, VA. As part of our team, you will work alongside the Executive Chef, managing back-of-the-house operations to ensure top-quality service, sanitation, and guest satisfaction while maintaining profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the on-duty kitchen manager for cruises, overseeing kitchen staff adherence to procedures.
  • Maintain high sanitation standards and health department codes, ensuring quality service.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule kitchen staff while fostering teamwork and positive relationships.
  • Resolve guest service issues and maintain safety programs for a seamless guest experience.
  • Participate in cost control, inventory management, and purchasing to optimize kitchen operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of kitchen experience in a high-volume environment.
  • 1+ year of kitchen staff management experience.
  • ServSafe Certified.
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions and lift up to 200 lbs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in English.
