Are you a skilled Kitchen Cook looking for an exciting opportunity? Hornblower - City Experiences is hiring a Sous Chef to join our City Cruises Operation in Norfolk, VA. As part of our team, you will work alongside the Executive Chef, managing back-of-the-house operations to ensure top-quality service, sanitation, and guest satisfaction while maintaining profitability.
Responsibilities
- Act as the on-duty kitchen manager for cruises, overseeing kitchen staff adherence to procedures.
- Maintain high sanitation standards and health department codes, ensuring quality service.
- Recruit, train, and schedule kitchen staff while fostering teamwork and positive relationships.
- Resolve guest service issues and maintain safety programs for a seamless guest experience.
- Participate in cost control, inventory management, and purchasing to optimize kitchen operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of kitchen experience in a high-volume environment.
- 1+ year of kitchen staff management experience.
- ServSafe Certified.
- Strong multitasking and communication skills.
- Ability to work in varying conditions and lift up to 200 lbs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in English.
