Job Description

Doppelmayr USA Inc is hiring an Electrical Engineer to join our Salt Lake City, Utah office. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical control system schematics, specifying power distributions, electric motors, VFDs, and related components for aerial ropeways. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal and international teams, demonstrate professionalism, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement control circuits in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with global colleagues to ensure consistency in design.
  • Ensure quality objectives are achieved in electrical projects.
  • Perform electrical project engineering tasks based on experience and project complexity.
  • Undertake additional tasks as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in PLC and relay logic system design.
  • Understanding of AC and DC power, control circuitry, and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of PLC and HMI software integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software like InterCAD or E-Plan.
  • Familiarity with power distribution systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% from January to September and potentially up to 100% from September through December.
  • Experience working at heights in mountainous environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with hydraulic system controls.
  • Capability in safety analysis of complex circuits.
  • Knowledge of fiberoptic cabling.
  • Leadership and management abilities.

Education

  • Required: BSEE or equivalent with proven competence in electrical engineering.
  • Preferred: EIT Certification, Manufacturer's Automation Training, Manufacturer's AC/DC Drive Systems Training.

Experience

  • 0-5 Years in control systems engineering.
