Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Director of Life Claims and Investigations to join our team at USAA. In this role, you will oversee the Life Claims and Investigations department, ensuring the seamless processing of claims and fraud investigations. You will be responsible for managing the Life SIU staff, developing investigative priorities, and maintaining key relationships within the industry. Our ideal candidate will provide leadership, ensure compliance with policies, and drive operational excellence within the team.
Responsibilities
- Guide staff on procedures, guidelines, and training materials interpretation.
- Direct and oversee the claims and benefits process.
- Lead a claims investigation team and drive business performance.
- Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with senior management.
- Identify emerging fraud trends and develop new fraud investigation programs.
- Enhance the Claims Security function and promote process improvements.
- Establish internal and external relationships to support business goals.
- Manage hiring, employee development, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure effective risk management and compliance within operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of relevant business experience with 3 years in Claims and/or Insurance Fraud.
- 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior military experience or experience in Life Insurance and annuity claims.
- Operational expertise in Life Insurance and annuity claims management.
- Familiarity with claims processing procedures and settlement practices.
- Proven track record of operational success.
