Job Description

Lycoming College is seeking a part-time Counselor to join the Counseling Services team. The Staff Counselor will provide general counseling services to students, including individual, relationship, and group counseling. Responsibilities include outreach programming, crisis intervention, and clinical training and supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client services such as psychotherapy, psychological assessment, consultation, and crisis intervention.
  • Offer counseling support to students individually and in groups.
  • Support specific populations including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and International students.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure students' psychological needs are met.
  • Provide after-hours crisis intervention.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within Student Life and across the College.
  • Deliver educational and outreach services on mental health and harm-reduction issues.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and appropriate licensure in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Experience in clinical counseling with college-aged populations.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and multicultural competencies.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Professional knowledge of suicide assessment, crisis management, and referral procedures.
