Job Description

The Construction Project Director at BluSky is responsible for managing and closing new business opportunities generated through personal business development and marketing activities. Working closely with various property owners and managers, this role involves developing cost estimates for restoration, renovation, environmental, and roofing services after properties have been damaged by disasters.

Duties & Responsibilities

Sales:

  • Meet or exceed sales goals
  • Negotiate and execute contracts
  • Convert opportunities into sales
  • Track sales activities

Revenue:

  • Oversee revenue production
  • Ensure timeliness of billings
  • Provide direction on project schedules

Profit Margins:

  • Develop and maintain project budgets
  • Monitor project costs
  • Seek to improve project profitability

AR & Collections:

  • Conduct collection calls
  • Manage accounts
  • Maintain DSO

Manage Near Term Opportunities:

  • Work with clients to close leads
  • Document communications

Business Development Activity:

  • Schedule and attend business development meetings
  • Participate in marketing events

Estimating Proficiency:

  • Accurate project estimating
  • Proficiency in Xactimate

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Consistent communication with stakeholders
  • Setting upfront expectations with customers

Working and coordinating with internal teams:

Mitigation
  • Coordinate work authorizations
  • Review T&M sheets
Reconstruction
  • Confirm scope of work and budget
  • Constant communication with Project Manager
Business Development
  • Communicate with Business Development Manager about opportunities
  • Update BD on project changes
Project Accountants
  • Oversee work authorizations
  • Assist with invoices and change orders

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing/business development experience in restoration or construction
  • Construction estimating experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Xactimate
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with project management and administration
  • OSHA, CPR, and First Aid certifications preferred

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Travel

  • Minimal travel required
